"Don't worry, be happy!" sounds like a trivial slogan until you understand its source. When Mahatma Gandhi arrived in France in 1931 he got off the ship and was greeted by hordes of reporters. Having met privately with Meher Baba aboard the ship enroute he said to them, "Tarry here a little longer, for one gets off the boat so great that I am not worthy to be the dirt under his fingernails". They had no idea what he was talking about. After a meeting with Meher Baba, Albert Einstein said, "Everything I know is nothing compared to what Meher Baba knows." In a letter dated May 15, 1958 Cecil B. deMille wrote, "When you see Shri Meher Baba later this month. please give him my respectful greetings and express to him my appreciation for the silent, prayerful work he is doing for a world that stands in such great need of prayer and prophetic leadership." |
